Leicester Tigers centre Manu Tuilagi has withdrawn through injury from the England squad to tour Australia.

Following a scan yesterday and a review by the England medical team, it was advised that Tuilagi would be unavailable for the three-Test tour in June.

“It’s bad luck for Manu so close to the tour but it provides a great opportunity for someone else,” said England head coach Eddie Jones. “We wish Manu all the best and a quick recovery.”

A replacement for Tuilagi will be announced following the Old Mutual Wealth Cup game against Wales on Sunday 29 May.
