England U18s have named their side for the final game of their summer development tour in South Africa.

England faces South Africa Schools on Saturday at City Park, Athlone (1 pm BST) in their third match of the ‘U19 International Series’.

They have so far beaten France 24-8 while losing to Wales 14-12 on Tuesday.

No 8 Sam Moore returns to captain the side and is joined in the back row by Tom Willis and Aaron Hinkley.
Scrum half Will Porter also returns to the starting XV with Cameron Redpath named at number 10.

Will Capon, who has three tries on tour, is named at hooker and is joined in the front row by Tom Rowland and Joe Heyes.

Josh Basham and James Scott are chosen at lock while Fraser Dingwall, as well as Cadan Murley, take their place in England’s midfield.

England’s back three are Tom Seabrook, Arron Reed, and full back Ollie Hassell-Collins.

“I want to see the team play like they have trained this week,” said England U18 coach Russell Earnshaw,
“It’s been a good couple of weeks, a great learning experience for the players and coaches and we want to see that transferred onto the pitch. I want to see them enjoy the experience. Last year was a really physical game so this year we’ll try and exceed their physicality.”

Earnshaw added: “One of the purposes of the tour is for young players to come and play South Africa in South Africa. It’s a great challenge, South Africa are physical, playing at home and will raise their game to play England.

“I think it will be an awesome environment for the lads to play in and we want them to play with passion and to enjoy themselves.”

And Earnshaw hopes the whole tour experience will help the squad with their progression both on and off the pitch.

“We are a small part of their development, the schools and the academies do a brilliant job and this is another experience that will help extend the players even further on and off the pitch,” he said.

“Next year a lot of these lads will be impressing in their clubs and might be fortunate enough to play U20 rugby for England.”
