#EPRugby GRAND CHALLENGE WRAP FROM SATURDAY
Leading EP Grand Challenge clubs Despatch and PE SAPS played to a 22-22 draw in their key league fixture at the weekend, allowing Despatch to retain a slender lead at the top of the log.
With both sides vieing for the top spot on the log to qualify for the Cell C Community Cup, this was expected to be a titanic encounter. And that is how it turned out, with the teams deadlocked at 10-10 at halftime and eventually going on to share the honours.
In Rosedale, Gardens crushed Crusaders 65-0 to secure third place on the log after Grahamstown Brumbies shaded Spring Rose 17-11 in Grahamstown.
The results were: Despatch 22 PE SAPS 22, Gardens 65 Crusaders 0, Brumbies 17 Spring Rose 11, Kruisfontein 34 Harlequins 18, Park 29 African Bombers 20.
