Extra seating for All Blacks and Black Ferns double header
Tickets for 1500 temporary seats now on sale
Temporary seating will be installed at Eden Park for the All Blacks’ block buster international season opening match against England on Saturday 7 June, New Zealand Rugby announced today.
In an exciting and rare double-international on New Zealand soil, the Black Ferns play against Samoa in a Test match curtain raiser to the All Blacks Test.
With only restricted view and single seats (approximately 430) left for the first of the three Steinlager Series Test matches, another 1500 seats in a temporary stand are up for grabs when tickets go on sale from midday today. The additional seating will take Eden Park’s total capacity to 47,500.
New Zealand Rugby Chief Executive Steve Tew said interest was very high in this fixture and was building to be an exciting way to kick-start the All Blacks 2014 season.
“We are delighted with the response to date to the Steinlager Series and we’re pleased to be able to add another 1500 seats for our fans to support the team who love to run out in front of a full house,” he said.
Auckland Rugby CEO Andy Dalton said hosting the first Test of the year was always a great way to start the international season.
“We’re very proud of the outstanding Test matches that we have hosted here before, but we know we’re in for something special with England this year. It surely is one not to miss.”
Construction of the new temporary seats in front of the North Stand (Walters Rd) will begin next week.
Tickets range from just $70 for an adult and $25 for a child. For more details go to www.ticketmaster.co.nz or call 0800 111 999.
