Fiji is facing the danger of being expelled from world rugby after the Fijian government started interfering with the island’s Rugby Union and attempted to unseat the entire union.

The Fijian military regime threatens to withhold millions of Dollars for the Union’s World Cup bid unless the entire board and executives resign after being accused by government leader Commodore Frank Bainimarama. of mismanagement in a fund-raising lottery.

The International Rugby Board has now made it clear to Fiji and officially warned them that any contravention of the union’s constitution, which includes interference by government, may result in Fiji being expelled from the the International Body and prevented from playing any international rugby.

If this happens it will mean that Fiji will miss the Rugby World Cup later this year in New Zealand.
