Four teams remain unbeaten at Girls U16 Week
Western Province, Border, Border CD and the Leopards on Wednesday remained unbeaten at the SARU Girls Under-16 Week at CJ Langenhoven Gymnasium in Oudtshoorn following another round of exciting matches.
Western Province registered an emphatic 48-0 victory against the Free State to build on their 26-0 win against the Limpopo Blue Bulls on the opening day’s play, while Border were in equally fine form as they thumped neighbours Eastern Province 41-10.
Their Border Country Districts counterparts also displayed their class to show that the region boasts a wealth of talented young players, as they overcame hosts SWD 15-0, while the Leopards also registered their second victory in as many matches by beating KwaZulu-Natal 13-0.
The convincing victory for Western Province, in particular, not only showed the high quality of their attack with 74 points in two outings, it also highlighted the quality of their defence as they have not conceded a point so far in the tournament.
In the other notable matches on Wednesday, the Limpopo Blue Bulls smashed the Golden Lions 62-0, Eastern Province CD outplayed the Griffons 33-0 and Boland beat the Blue Bulls 22-0.
The players will rest on Thursday and will take to the field again on Friday in the final round of matches.
