Free State Rugby and SuperSport are partners in the social upliftment project whereby they sponsor talented rugby boys through the school system and hopefully to the ranks of Cheetah Rugby players. Companies these days have to spend money for BEE purposes on social development and upliftment. The Toyota Cheetahs offered their partners, SuperSport, the opportunity to spend these funds with Free State Rugby in a development program with HTS Louis Botha. We were fortunate enough to have Super Sport come on board with us in 2015 and sponsor 3 boys at HTS Louis Botha.
The Free State Cheetahs would like to thank Mr Graham Abrahams, and his team from Super Sport, for their support of this project and encourage any other business that wishes to get involved in the project to get in contact with Rory Duncan at Free State Rugby. Companies can invest in the project as part of their BEE obligatory payments towards social development.
The project gives companies the opportunity to get involved in local development of players by making these contributions to the school and also have personal relationship with the boys that they are sponsoring. Who knows, the boy that you sponsor could be the next Springbok to come through our ranks and you can have the satisfaction of knowing that you gave him a quality education as well as putting him on the right track with regards to his rugby career.
