FRSU Statement on assault incident
Free State Rugby learned late Sunday afternoon that an incident occurred on suit level after the Absa Currie Cup match. An investigation was immediately launched to gain all the facts. The incident which occurred an hour after the final whistle blew appears to have been caused by an isolated individual.
Strict security measures are maintained in the stadium and as well as on the suit level. This particular incident was of such an isolated nature that it did not come to the attention of the Security. The matter is further examined in the light of strict and valid Sports Legislation. Free State Rugby deplores this type of incidents.
