Get involved with the Cell C Nelson Mandela Bay Sevens 7-8th Dec
ITS GO TIME!
Are you ready for the biggest party of the year? It’s not long to wait until summers hottest party hits the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, as the HSBC IRB Sevens World Series powers into town.
Not What You’re Expecting
If you’re ready for the most entertaining 7’s rugby on the planet from 16 of the best teams ever assembled, you will not be disappointed. This year, the pace and spectacle of the fastest version of rugby has moved to another level though, attracting the countries top musical entertainment, eager to please and phenomenally talented Cheerleaders, beat battling DJ’s, and crazy cool MC’s to keep the excitement levels at fever pitch throughout the weekend.
Teams
The World Series began with a win for New Zealand on the Australian Gold Coast with the hosts in second place. England and South Africa take the third and fourth places respectively on the log and it’s all to play for at this early stage of the World Series where teams are giving it their all in an attempt to gain momentum to take them into 2014, and eventually the title.
South Africa will be looking to tap into raucous hometown support to find that vital extra energy that is so essential to claim a series win, and this year, together with a dressed up and festive home crowd, the most incredible musical acts are getting into the action.
No Break – Do not expect one seconds break over the weekend’s extreme excitement and entertainment. Between the games, at half time and at every given opportunity the DJ’s, bands and Cheerleaders surge into action to get you moving in your party suits.
Jeremy Loops, a Cape Town musician skilled in guitar, harmonica, beatbox, ukelele, banjo and loop pedal will be expecting the crowd to contribute to his act in an incredibly fresh sound that will make the whole stadium part of the vibey act.
Crazy White Boy is the brainchild of local duo Ryan Murgatroyd and Kosta Karatamoglou who are taking the music scene and charts by storm and are so ready to get you partying hard with them inside the reverberating stadium to their famous singles ‘Zoma’ and ‘Love You Better’ – learn the words and be a part of the live act.
1st Project is South Africa’s biggest drumming act. Their ‘Aggressive Percussion’ is completely original bringing together elements of rock, house, African and Latin rhythms that will be hugely amplified in the stadium and will have you totally amped to back the Blitzbokke to the finals and the win!
LIVE ENTERTAINMENT, BEER, BABES, BEATS
A battle of the DJ’s, sensational Cheerleaders performing to all the incredible tunes, and wickedly sharp tongues of MC’s Ryan O’Connor and Guy McDonald will have the whole stadium buzzing with anticipation for all the rocket fuelled international rugby
