GIB® – backing the Crusaders
The Crusaders are proud to announce a major new partnership with Winstone Wallboards, under the GIB® brand. Winstone Wallboards has signed a three year partnership as the National Sponsor of the Crusaders and will have its logo on the back of the players’ jerseys for the 2014 – 2016 seasons.
Crusaders Chief Executive Hamish Riach says the Crusaders are thrilled to have such a well known local brand on their jerseys from next year.
“GIB® has the sort of values that align well with the Crusaders. Professionalism, innovation and pursuit of excellence are driving values for the Crusaders, and I know that these values are central to the GIB® brand as well.
“We are proud to wear an iconic local brand such as GIB® on our jerseys. Winstone Wallboards has been producing GIB® plasterboard out of its factory in Opawa for 50 years, employing local people and supporting the local economy. They are playing a key role in the rebuild of this region, which is important to us and to our supporters,” Mr Riach said.
Winstone Wallboards General Manager, David Thomas, said that the growth of the company in this region presented a perfect opportunity to sponsor the Crusaders: “This is a team that means so much to people here. Rugby is an integral part of life here and one of the most watched sports by our customers, so we know that our staff and customers will all be very happy to see the GIB® brand supporting the Crusaders.”
Winstone Wallboards is New Zealand’s sole manufacturer and largest marketer of gypsum plasterboard, drywall systems and associated products and services. It manufactures plasterboard systems under the GIB® brand name and has a proud heritage of being a New Zealand-focused and New Zealand-based company.
“Since the earthquake, Winstone Wallboards has increased its staff numbers, invested in new capacity to meet expected demand and implemented a number of value added activities as part of its commitment to assist in the Canterbury rebuild,” Mr Thomas said. “This sponsorship is just one more way that we are able to show our support and connect with our local customer base.”
