Glenwood High School beats Pinetown Boys High 13 April 2013
Glenwood’s 1st XV travelled to Pietermaritzburg (Voortrekker High School) this past weekend to play against Pinetown in a combined fixture between Glenwood, Voortrekker, Pinetown, Linpark and Alex High School.
It was a beautiful hot day in Pietermaritzburg as the boys arrived early to start the host of games at 8am.
The Glenwood boys played well in all the games showing some silky handling and good defence.
The first team only kicked off at 5pm and the lights had to come on for the last part of the game.
Pinetown is a team that never stops playing and forced Glenwood to make some unforced errors. A couple of missed passes and poor decisions caused for a slow start.
The boys in Green soon sorted out the issues and a bunch of well worked tries followed that were scored through great running rugby.
The week’s preparation showed and the areas the team wanted to improve on showed and that is what was important.
The team now looks ahead to this weekend when they travel to Balgowan for their next match against Michaelhouse.
