Glenwood Rugby Player Receives Life Changing Opportunity
Grade 12 pupil Wandi Mazibuko has impressed many rugby spectators and selectors this year and was recently awarded a R100 000 bursary to the Sharks Academy for next year.
Wandi had always been an exceptional rugby player and playing in the loose forward has always been his position.
He has been playing A team rugby since joining Glenwood High in grade 8 and has captained the u15 and u16A sides.
He was also captain for the Grant Khomo team. Leadership is one of Wandi’s strengths as he is also a boarder and school prefect.
This year Wandi has played in numerous festivals around the country and was selected to be part of the NWU Pukke Skouspel side at the Pukke festival earlier this year.
On top of this he also impressed at the Kearsney Rugby Festival and was selected as a stand out player.
This earned him a R100 000 bursary to the Sharks Academy next year where hopefully he can be groomed into a new and upcoming franchise player.
