Match Report:
Port Natal at home on a Friday night is always a challenge and this weekend proved this to be true. Port Natal were by far the better team in the 1st half boasting the majority share of possession and territory.
Glenwood did well to hang onto a slim lead (10-8) going into half time with tries by Hilton de Jaager and Chris Klopper going unconverted.
Things did not get much better for Glenwood as players began to panic and far too many mistakes let the home side into the game. A penalty kick took Port Natal into the lead (11-10) and an upset looked like it was on the cards.
Glenwood bounced back with a try through Marco Palvie, which was unconverted, and regained the lead (15-11). This lead, however, was short lived as Port Natal made use of another Glenwood unforced error and punished the visitors through a well constructed try. The lead had changed hands again and Port Natal now led 15-16.
Glenwood made some changes to the on-field personal in order to try and bring some stability and calmness back into their game. These changes paid off as with 4 minutes to go Jaydon Morgan crossed the try line to secure his team a 20-16 victory.
This was a disappointing performance from the highly rated Glenwood side, one that they need to improve on should they wish to compete for the trophy next Friday.
