Grey College will challenge all the top schools in 2010!
Grey College has been the top rugby school in South Africa for a number of years and is ready to compete against formidable opponents in 2010.
Grey College usually battles a few top schools each year such as Afrikaans Hoër Pretoria, Pretoria Boys High, Paarl Boys High, Paul Roos, Grey High PE & Glenwood but will this year challenge additional top rugby school teams.
They will play the top schools in the Northern Cape / Griquas such as Hoërskool Duineveld & Hoërskool Upington before they go to the two rugby festivals where they will be challenged by more of South Africa’s top rugby school sides.
Grey College will start the 2010 rugby season against Harmony Sports School in Welkom.
During the two festivals Grey College 1st XV will be competing against teams such as EG Jansen & Monument at the Kearsney College Easter Festival. Grey will battle with Paarl Gymnasium at the Wildeklawer Festival.
Grey College can select from 12 u/19 sides and the expectations are very high! There is much talent available when coach Dries van der Walt selects his 1st XV & 22 man squad. It remains a huge honour for Grey boys to present their school 1st XV and the pressure on coaches to select from so much talented rugby players is immense!
Rugby enthusiasts will ask once more “who can stop Grey this year?”
