From ‘The Hiltonian’, March 1964, a resume of the second game that year, played at Hilton:
“ A hot, blustery wind made conditions difficult. With the wind behind him, Attwood-Smith goaled two penalties (6-0). Giles broke out and kicked intelligently around the scrum.
Havemann executed a neat dummy scissors with Merrick, jinked past the full back and scored (9-0). With the wind against us in the second half we fared less well.
Hopkins and Hassard, very quickly away from the set pieces, caught their full back in possession near his own line and Hassard wrested the ball from him to mscore (12 – 0). The Michaelhouse forwards played well, but their three-quarters lacked penetration.
Only once did Nash get the ball in time to put in an electrifying run which was stopped only by a well timed tackle by Attwood=Smith. Hopkins charged sown an attempted drop in front of our posts.
They pressed for most of the last 20 minutes and deserved some score. Won 12 – 0”
