HSBC Sydney 7s days two and three headed for sellout
Rugby fans are preparing themselves for an epic return to Allianz Stadium in Sydney for the 2017 HSBC Sydney 7s with only limited tickets available for the second and third day of competition.
Following the success of last year’s debut tournament, which sold out nine days out from kick-off, Sydneysiders and Rugby fans from across the globe have acted fast to secure their place in the carnival atmosphere of Australia’s home leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.
The 2017 edition of the HSBC Sydney 7s will kick off on Friday, 3 February when Australia’s World and Olympic Champion Qantas Women’s Sevens team will take to their home turf on the quest for the first ever HSBC Sydney 7s women’s title.
Australian Rugby Union Chief Operating Officer, Rob Clarke said: “The response from Sydney and Rugby fans from all over the world has been phenomenal and the inclusion of the women’s tournament has had a clear impact with the speed of ticket sales for the Saturday, where the women’s finals will be played.
“While there are only limited seats left for Saturday and Sunday, our Olympic Gold medal-winning Women’s team will make their home debut in an official World Rugby Sevens Series event on Friday (3 February) so there is still plenty of opportunities for fans to get in on the action and witness these incredible athletes in the flesh.
“Anyone who attended last year’s HSBC Sydney 7s will tell you it was one of the best live sports experiences they have had, and with a new dress-up theme ‘Go Colourful’ as well as the fast-paced action on the field, we are looking forward to another extraordinary spectacle in 2017.”
