The city of Palmerston North is getting right behind the Hurricanes ahead of Friday’s match with already over 5,000 tickets pre-sold. That number is well ahead of where the match was two years ago in pre-sale figures. The clock tower has turned yellow and there will be a Hurricanes Fan Zone in the Square from 4-5pm this afternoon when the team arrive in town.

The team last played at FMG Stadium in 2011, when they won over the Force 34-28.

Looking at this week’s line-up, the changes include the return of Jason Eaton, Karl Lowe, Victor Vito and TJ Perenara to the starting 15. Beauden Barrett moves back into first five-eighth with Andre Taylor comes in at fullback. Matt Proctor gets his first start on the wing.

Mark Hammett said the following on Julian Savea: “Julian has made himself unavailable for the Stormers game this week before he re-joins the team next week. Julian has approached us on this decision and we agree.”

Kick off this Friday is 7.35pm at FMG Stadium, Palmerston North.
