The Isuzu Southern Kings will be going pink in support of cancer awareness for their Guinness PRO14 Round 7 match against Scarlets at the Nelson Mandela University’s Madibaz Stadium on Friday, October 26.

With October being cancer awareness month in South Africa, the Isuzu Southern Kings will, on a one-off occasion, play the match against Scarlets in pink rugby socks to raise awareness about the fight against cancer.

“Cancer is a disease that affects many people in South Africa and across the globe, including some of our own players, management and staff who have been directly or indirectly affected by the disease,” said Isuzu Southern Kings Chief Operations Officer, Charl Crous.

To amplify the involvement in the fight against cancer, the Isuzu Southern Kings will also be supporting the Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer by leading the 5km walk in Port Elizabeth, starting and finishing at The Sun Boardwalk on Saturday, October 27.

Isuzu Southern Kings players will also be present at the Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer registration next Thursday and Friday.

“We as the Isuzu Southern Kings are pleased to be part of this great initiative which marries well with our own #KingsCare campaign. As the Isuzu Southern Kings we support the fight against cancer and we are happy to be part of a campaign that raises awareness about cancer,” said Crous.

“Isuzu Southern Kings players are excited and looking forward to leading the 2018 Algoa FM Big Walk. We will further show our support with the Isuzu Southern Kings playing their Guinness PRO14 match against Welsh side, Scarlets, in pink socks on the Friday night before the Big Walk. We encourage the public to support this wonderful initiative which is the 2018 Algoa FM Big Walk and also our important Guinness PRO14 match against Scarlets next week.”

The match between the Isuzu Southern Kings and Scarlets will kick off at 19h00 SA-time (18h00 UK-time).

Tickets for the match are available at TicketPro outlets at only R20.
