Jarrad Hoeata Suspended For One Week
The SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Jannie Lubbe SC has accepted a guilty plea from Jarrad Hoeata of the Highlanders for contravening Disciplinary Rule 6.1 of the SANZAR Judicial Rules by receiving a third Yellow Card in the 2013 Super Rugby tournament. Hoeata received the third Yellow Card during the Super Rugby match between the Highlanders and Crusaders played at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin on 29th June 2013.
Hoeata has been suspended from all forms of the game up to and including 8 July 2013.
In his finding, Jannie Lubbe SC ruled the following:
Having reviewed video footage of the three yellow card incidents and after careful consideration of the submissions made on behalf of the player, the player was offered a one week suspension which was accepted. The player was represented by Mr Aaron Lloyd who made able and helpful submissions on the question whether any further sanction should be imposed on the player.
All SANZAR disciplinary matters are in the first instance referred to a Duty Judicial Officer hearing to provide the option of expediting the judicial process.
For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the DJO.
