Junior Pokomela commits for another two years

The Free State Cheetahs (Pty) Ltd is delighted to announce that the eighth man, Junior Sipato Pokomela, has committed for another two seasons with the Toyota Cheetahs.

Pokomela made his Guinness PRO14 debut on 16 September and played in 11 matches so far.  He further has two Super Rugby caps and 4 Currie Cup caps to his name.

In 2016 he was selected as vice-captain of the SA U20 team, and captained the team in the play-off final against Argentina where he proved to be a stand out player in the U20 World Cup.

Despite his leadership capabilities, Pokomela is known for his big ball carries as well as his defensive ability. At just over 1.9m tall he is also a great lineout option and his physical presence has definitely added value to the Cheetahs line-up.
