Junior Springboks Squad has first full training on French soil
The South Africa Under-20 rugby squad started their IRB Junior World Championship (JWC) match preparations on Saturday at their tournament base in Les Sables d’Olonne in France.
The Junior Springboks arrived in France on Friday afternoon and enjoyed their first full training on French soil earlier this morning. Another field session is scheduled for Saturday afternoon and the team to face the United States in the opening pools fixture next Wednesday at La Roch Sur Yon will be named on Tuesday.
France will host the tournament from 5 – 23 June across three venues.
Coach Dawie Theron said his players have settled in well since their arrival. “The coaching staff are very pleased with the first training session and the players are very happy to be here in France. We will fine tune our match preparations during the next few days before announcing our team on Tuesday,” said Theron.
