The Vodacom Blue Bulls Under-21 team to play the Toyota Free State in the Absa Under-21 Provincial Championship at Loftus Versfeld on Friday has been boosted by the availability of Junior Springbok star Dan Kriel. The strong-running midfielder was released from the Vodacom Blue Bulls Currie Cup side and will play alongside leading try-scorer, Marquit September, for this important clash. He replaces Adrian Maebane, who moves to the bench.

Vodacom Blue Bulls U21 coach Handré Marnitz also gave Dewald Human a first start at fullback, with Ganfried May shifting to the wing. Impi Visser is the new scrumhalf in place of Theo Maree.

Up front, Corniel Els is also back after making his debut for the senior side in Kimberley last weekend and will start at hooker and Riekert Hattingh comes in at flank for Corne Cooper. Mox Mxoli moves from tighthead to loosehead in place of Pierre Schoeman, who makes a first start for the senior side. Stefaan Grundelingh will play tighthead.
