KZN Wildebeest win Southern Sub-Union title
The KwaZulu-Natal Wildebeest on Friday took top honours at the Southern Sub-Union tournament in Margate in style as they produced a scintillating performance to finish the competition on a memorable note.
The KZN side entered the final against Eastern Province high on confidence following their emphatic 63-0 victory against Griquas on Wednesday, and they managed to transfer that onto the field in the final.
Such was the high quality of their performance they outplayed Eastern Province 41-12 thanks to a balanced effort on attack and defence.
Boland also finished the tournament on a high as they powered their way to a convincing 82-16 victory to win the plate final.
In the other matches SWD defeated Border 41-28 and Western Province thumped Griquas 48-3.
