latest news on Julian Redelinghuys injury
Latest on Julian Redelinghuys:
“Julian’s operation went well on Sunday morning. He had a fusion at C5/6 level. If all goes well, he should be able to return home later this week,” said dr Rob Collins, team doctor of the Xerox Golden Lions.
Redelinghuys sustained a dislocation of his neck at C5/6 level during the Currie Cup semi-final against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Saturday when he collided with Torsten van Jaarsveld of the Cheetahs in the 44th minute. He was replaced by Ruan Dreyer.
He had minimal temporary weakness of his left arm. He was in traction at a Bloemfontein hospital and underwent surgery on Sunday morning to reduce the dislocation and stabilise it. He is expected to make a full recovery.
