Leolin Zas of the Stormers has received a red card for foul play during a Super Rugby match at the weekend.

Zas is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (i) Tackling… an Opponent jumping for the ball in a lineout or in open play, when he made contact with Waratahs #10, Bernard Foley. Zas made contact with Foley who was in the air attempting to catch a ball during the match between the Stormers and Waratahs at DHL Newlands, Cape Town on 30 April, 2016.

The Case is to be considered in the first instance by SANZAAR Duty Judicial Officer Nigel Hampton QC.

All SANZAAR disciplinary matters are in the first instance referred to a Duty Judicial Officer hearing to provide the option of expediting the judicial process.

For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the DJO.
