Leopards claim APC North title
The Leopards on Friday claimed the Northern Amateur Provincial Championship title with a 27-10 victory against the Falcons at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane to complete a fantastic run of form in the tournament.
The victory followed an emphatic 57-13 victory against the Pumas and a 30-21 victory against defending champions the Blue Bulls in their opening matches, which earned them a place in the final.
The Blue Bulls XV, meanwhile, won the Plate Final with a convincing 55-17 victory against the Pumas Lowveld.
In the other matches the Lions registered a narrow 47-45 victory against the Blue Bulls to finish in third position, and the Pumas pipped the Limpopo Blue Bulls 18-17 in the 7th/8th place playoff.
Meanwhile, the Southern Amateur Provincial Championship started in Humansdorp in the Eastern Cape on Monday, with SWD taking on EP Rural in the opening match at 11h00. Boland will meet EP Urban in the final match of the day at 16h00.
