Lions crush Sharks in Cape Town
The Lions put together a well rounded and runaway second half performance to beat the Sharks 41-10 in the second of three Neo Africa Tri-Series warm up matches at Newlands in Cape Town.
The Sharks scored the first points through a Patrick Lambie try but after that it was all Lions, scoring a penalty conversion and converted try, to take a 10-5 lead at the break. The second half started with another two Lions tries by Warren Whiteley and Jaco Taute before the Sharks pulled one back through Lwazi Mvovo.
The Lions then continued to dominate the set pieces and scored a further two tries through rolling mauls, one by captain Franco van der Merwe and the other by replacement Caylib Oosthuizen, before Michael Killian finished the Sharks off with a runaway try.
