Lions name new talent in Super 14 touring squad
Lions director of coaching Dick Muir has introduced five players to his squad that were beaten 72-65 by the Chiefs at Coca-Cola Park on Friday night for the Lions’ four-match Super 14 Australasian tour.
Old hands Dusty Noble (wing), centre Walter Venter and JC Janse van Rensburg (prop) join uncapped lock George Earl in the 26-man squad that departs for Australasia on Sunday.
Robert Kruger is a late replacement for loose forward Jonathan Mokuena, whose wife is expecting a child next week.
The Lions play the Hurricanes next Friday. They then return to Australia for matches against the Brumbies and Waratahs before again crossing the Tasman for a match against the Crusaders.
