Louis Deacon and Alex Corbisiero to join England Under 20 camp
Former England forwards Louis Deacon and Alex Corbisiero will be in attendance at England Under 20s upcoming training camp in December.
The pair has been invited to camp to support the squad as they come together for the second time since the 2016-17 England U20 EPS was announced in October.
Deacon is hugely experienced for both club and country. Before retiring in February 2015, the second row made 274 appearances for Leicester Tigers, helping them win six Aviva Premiership finals and two Anglo-Welsh Cups alongside his 29 caps for England.
In his first post-retirement coaching role, the 36-year old joined Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club as a specialist lineout coach before progressing to the role of forwards coach for the National League Division One side.
Corbisiero, a former England and British and Irish Lions loose-head prop, has been capped at all levels for his country. The 2008 England U20 team that featured Corbisiero secured the Six Nations Grand Slam for the first time and reached the final of the IRB Junior World Championship.
Earlier this year the former London Irish and Northampton forward provided specialist support across England’s age-grade teams with a focus on the scrum and front row.
Dean Ryan, Head of International Player Development at the RFU, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Louis and Alex to share their vast knowledge and experience with the next generation of England players.
“When you wear the rose there is a big step up in intensity and both Louis and Alex will play an important role in supporting Rory during this camp to make sure this group of players are prepared for that as we continue their development ahead of the Six Nations.”
England U20 recently announced their U20 Six Nations home fixtures for this season with matches taking place in Exeter, Darlington and Northampton.
