Brothers Rugby Club is excited to announce that the 2017 Australian Club Championship will be broadcast live from Brisbane’s Crosby Park on FOX SPORTS on 25th February 2017.

FOX SPORTS will telecast the Australian Club Championship match between 2016 BLK Queensland Premier Rugby winners Brothers Rugby and the 2016 Intrust Shute Shield winners Northern Suburbs, as well as a curtain raiser between the 2016 Runners-Up and two historical club-rugby rivals the University of Queensland and Sydney University.

The live club rugby games will provide fans with a Rugby feast before FOX SPORTS’ live broadcast of the Australian Super Rugby derby game between the Waratahs and Force that evening.

Brothers President Hans Pearson said: “We’re delighted that club rugby will have a live television platform to showcase this fixture between the winners of the Premier club Rugby competitions on both sides of the Tweed. This is an exciting opportunity for fans of club rugby to enjoy a high-quality product at Jack Ross Oval in Brisbane. We’ve already had a much corporate interest in this concept and sponsorship opportunities are now available for this landmark event. Working with the Queensland Rugby Union and the Australian Rugby Union has enabled us to gain genuine traction for the event to promote the tribalism and high quality of the club game.”

QRU CEO Richard Barker said: “The QRU congratulates Brothers and FOX SPORTS on bringing this live concept to fruition. The QRU is keen for as many people as possible to experience and enjoy all club rugby has to offer and we were keen to bring the broadcaster and Brothers together, so rugby fans across the country can watch these club rugby games in February as part of FOX SPORTS’ excellent coverage of our code.”
