Muir’s plan come together as they ran rampant in Port Elizabeth against Andrew Rabie. The College ran in 11 tries to Rabie’s 2 with a 71-17 victory. At the break Muir was ahead 33-17.
Muir opened the scoreboard when lock Ancel Velkers crossed the line. The hosts were not fazed by this early try. They set up a drive from a line-out and scored. A successful conversion saw hosting Rabie take the lead. 8th man Connell Howley forced his way over the line to regain the lead for Muir. Inside Center Neo Pepeta kicked the conversion and extend the lead. Rabie narrowed the College’s lead with a penalty kick.
Fly-half Luphelo Miggels was at first receiver off a ruck, saw a few forward in front of him and burnt them on the outside. Pepeta converted successfully. Rabie was not out done, and come back with a converted try.
Muir upped the pace in the last few minutes of the game and ran in two converted tries. Wing Edward Mahood and 8th man Howlley (his second of the game) were the try scores and Pepeta converted.
The second-half saw Muir dominate all phases of play. They ran in 6 tries to which Rabie had no reply. The College’s defense was rock solid and caught Rabie behind the gain line numerous times.
Tries were scored by flank Ntsika Fisanti (2), wing Mahood, center Sicelo Tole, prop Kudzwayi Dube and 8th man Howley (making it a hattrick). Pepeta kicked 3 successful conversion.
