Utility back Duncan Matthews will make a first start for the Vodacom Blue Bulls Under-21 team this season and will play at fullback against Eastern Province on Friday.

Matthews has recovered from a knee injury that kept him out of action for most of the competition and will be keen to contribute as the team makes their final push for a top four spot.
Coach Handré Marnitz also drafted Adrian Maebane into the midfield, with regular inside centre, Marquit September, playing off the bench.
The match in Pretoria is of crucial importance to the home side, as they will conclude their normal fixtures for the season. They are currently in fourth place on 29 log points, with the Xerox Golden Lions fifth on 28, but with a game in hand.

The team is: Duncan Matthews, Duhan van der Merwe, Dan Kriel, Adrian Maebane, Philip Orffer, Joshua Stander, Theo Maree, Jsuandre Swanepoel, Riekert Hatttingh, Marco van Staden, Eli Snyman, Jason Jenkins, Dayan van der Westhuizen, Arno van Wyk, Nqobisizwe Mxoli. Replacements: Vuyo Kathide, Njabula Gumede, Menzi Nhlabathi, Carel Swart, JP Smith, Dewald Human, Marquit September.
