MEDICAL UPDATE: STEVAL PUMAS
According to the team physiotherapist of the Steval Pumas, Luzahn Louw there are several injuries after the Absa Currie Cup match played in Nelspruit against the EP Kings:
New injuries:
- Captain Stefan Watermeyer – he is rested for the week with a grade 1 torn hamstring, final medical clearance done later the week
- Hoffmann Maritz – is rested for a day with a grade 1 torn ankle ligament, final medical clearance done later the week
- Corné Fourie – will see the specialist today and undergo a MRI scan on his shoulder
- Dewald Pretorius – has a knee cartilage injury
Old injuries:
- De-Jay Terblanché will see the doctor later today with the pinching nerve – at this stage he has no pain, final medical clearance done later the week
- Rudi Mathee – has a grade 2 torn calve muscle, final medical clearance done later the week
- JW Bell – will be rested for another week with his hamstring injury
- Lambert Groenewald’s screws in his hand will be removed this week, he’ll then start with his rehabilitation program
- Jacques Momberg – his plaster will be removed for a broken thumb, where after he’ll start with his rehabilitation program
Cleared:
- Brian Shabangu has been cleared for selection after a broken fore arm.
