Morgan signs up for more at Cardiff Blues
Matthew Morgan is excited for the future at Cardiff Blues after penning a new deal to remain at the Arms Park.
The livewire full-back was set to come out of contract in the summer but has now signed a long-term extension.
He is the tenth player to commit to Cardiff Blues in recent weeks, following on from the likes of Ellis Jenkins, Macauley Cook and Lloyd Williams, and is brimming with optimism for the future. Morgan, 25, said: “I’m happy to have signed and I’m really excited about what we can achieve here, hopefully we can kick on and try to win some silverware.
“I’ve really enjoyed playing at the Arms Park. With the players we have, the 3G pitch suits us down to the ground and I feel like we’re playing some good rugby.
“It’s a pretty special place to play and is amazing when full. In the last few games at home we’ve played some great rugby and shown on our day we can score from anywhere – hopefully we can keep building on that.”
Morgan joined Wales’ Capital Region ahead of the 2016-17 season and has so far made 43 appearances, scoring 11 tries in the process, five of which have come in the last five home games at Cardiff Arms Park.
While the Wales international’s attacking prowess is undisputed, his all round game has also steadily improved and he hopes to continue that progression.
He continued: “I feel like I have improved while at Cardiff Blues and things have been going well for me this season but as a player you always want to get better both on and off the pitch and I’m determined to continue that.”
