National Under 20 Championship and Shield draws
NORTHUMBERLAND face an away quarter-final against Eastern Counties as they continue their defence of the National Under 20 Championship.
Northumberland beat Yorkshire in last season’s final at Twickenham Stadium but were beaten by their northern rivals in their final Pool One match yesterday.
As runners-up in the pool Northumberland now face a trip to Eastern Counties who won Pool Two by beating North Midlands 40-31 at Shelford.
North Midlands also qualified for the quarter-finals as pool runners-up and now face an away tie against Yorkshire in the quarter-finals on February 15.
Devon, the Pool Three winners, will host Berkshire while Kent, who topped Pool Four, will have home advantage against Cornwall.
In the National Under 20 Shield semi-finals Surrey and Durham will meet in a re-run of last season’s final.
Surrey beat Durham in a thrilling final at Coventry last March and both have progressed to the last four where Surrey will have home advantage on February 15.
Hampshire will host Staffordshire, who beat Warwickshire 27-20 in an all-Midlands quarter-final, in the other tie.
