New point allocations for #VarsityCup
Point allocation for tries scored:
In Varsity Cup 2016 a try can be worth up to 9 points depending on where the move starts.
If a team scores a try where the movement starts between the halfway line and the opponent’s 22m a 2 point bonus will be awarded making the score worth 7 points.
If the attacking team scores from their own half a 4 point bonus will be awarded provided possession is held through out that movement, making the try worth 9 points.
If an attacking team scores where the movement starts in the opponent’s 22m no bonus points are allocated making that score worth 5 points.
Point allocation for successful penalty kicks, drop goals and conversions:
- Penalty kick worth 3 points
- Drop goal worth 3 points
- Conversion worth 2 points
