New Talent for Emirates Lions in warmup against SupaBaabaas
The Emirates Lions took on the SupaBaabaas in a warm-up match before the start of Super Rugby 2017. The match took place at the WITS Rugby stadium on Saturday, 4 February 2017.
The Lions let loose a few new upcoming stars and the young Shaun Reynolds are one of the few to mention as possible back up fly half to the infamous Elton Jantjies. Harold Foster had an excellent start on his return.
The SupaBaabaas – made up from clubs in Gauteng and Leopards – showed some character in taking advantage of the holes left in defence by the Lions for them to score 3 tries. The Lions did, however, lead with 4 tries at half-time and won the match with 7 tries in total.
The crowd turnout was good and it was lovely to see this support in a warm-up game before the crazy start or Super Rugby 2017.
