No surgery for Botha
The Vodacom Blue Bulls on Monday received the good news that their captain and Springbok hooker Gary Botha doesn’t require surgery.
Botha will miss the next four weeks of Currie Cup action after suffering medial ligament damage inside the first quarter of his team’s 12-15 loss to Western Province at the weekend.
Team doctor Org Strauss confirmed that scans showed the veteran hooker does not require surgery.
“He will recover through rehabilitation,” Strauss said.
Stand-in captain Derrick Kuün was also cleared from serious injury.
“He [Kuün] took a knock to the knee, but he has started training again today [Monday],” Strauss said, adding that the utility forward will be fit to take his place when the Bulls tackle Griquas on Friday.
