Ollie Lindsay-Hague has been added to the England Sevens squad for the 2016/17 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.

Lindsay-Hague was part of the Team GB sevens squad that won a silver medal at the Rio Olympics in the summer.

The 26-year-old back had been contracted to Premiership club Harlequins at the time but left in August.

“It’s great to have Ollie joining us full time for the season,” said England Sevens Head Coach Simon Amor.

“He was outstanding during the GB preparations and in Rio as well. Ollie is a superb player, who has exceptional feet and on his day he is un-defendable. Everyone is excited to see what he can bring to the group on a permanent basis.”

Lindsay-Hague resumed his sevens career in Hong Kong last April, having represented England in 2010, and captain Tom Mitchell said the squad were “excited” to have him available for the 2016/17 campaign.

“It’s awesome to have Ollie on board,” added Mitchell.

“He’s a good character to have around as he gives us all a bit of a laugh but he has also got an unbelievable amount of talent and electric feet which are really well suited to the sevens game.”
