Anthony picks strong side to face Border
Vodacom Blue Bulls Under-19 coach Paul Anthony decided to rest a number of stalwarts in his undefeated team, rotate others and to recall a couple of fit-again players when he named his side to play Border in Pretoria on Friday. A number of regulars have slight niggles and others are returning from injury, but Anthony still picked a very strong side to face Border and try to make it nine wins in a row in the Absa Under-19 Provincial Championship.
There will be first starts to Tiaan van Dijk on the wing and Ganfried May at flyhalf, although the latter has been involved in all eight matches played this far. He played at fullback, wing and twice as replacement-flyhalf. On the bench, Bryce Nicholson-Dey will make a first appearance this season.
The team is: Duncan Matthews, Tiaan van Dijk, Daniel Kriel, Rohan Janse van Rensburg, Marcus Kleinbooi, Ganfried May, JP Wolmarans, Chris Massyn, Ngwako Ralepelle, Heinrich Viljoen, Bobby de Wee, Justin Basson, Dayan van der Westhuizen, Arno van Wyk, Pierre Schoeman (c). Replacements: Corne Els, Piet-Louw Strauss, Riekert Hattingh, Carel Swart, Cameron Anthony, Leighton van Wyk, Bryce Nicholson-Dey, Johan Bannink.
