BOLAND PLAYING FOR PRIDE AGAINST THE BULLDOGS
The Boland Cavaliers will be looking to redeem themselves against the Border
Bulldogs in East London on Saturday, after going down 44-10 against the EP
Kings this past weekend.
The Kings, who led 19-10 at half-time, scored seven tries against one, to
sink the Cavaliers in Citrusdal. Granville Adams scored Boland’s only try of
the match.
With only pride to play for against the bottom placed Bulldogs in the
Southern Section of the Vodacom Cup, both teams will be determined to avoid
the wooden spoon on Saturday. This will be the last Vodacom Cup match of the
season for both these teams, with neither the Cavaliers or the Bulldogs in
the run for a spot in the Play-offs.
Eric Zana’s return in the number fifteen jersey will provide the Cavaliers
with some fire power from the back, while hooker Clemen Lewis will add grunt
to the forwards pack. Martin Dreyer’s experience in the Tight head position
should ensure a stable scrum for Boland, which could lead to fireworks out
wide as regular Flyhalf Christian Rust has been selected at Outside Centre
for this match.
