Qantas Wallabies ‘Arvo Test Rugby’ June Series Tickets On Sale Now
General public tickets have gone on sale today for the Qantas Wallabies’ three afternoon Test matches against Fiji, Scotland and Italy this June.
With the games taking place at family-friendly time slots in the country’s premier rectangular stadiums, the matches will give fans of all ages an opportunity to see their heroes in action. The 2017 Arvo Test Rugby Series marks the first time in the professional era that all three June Tests will be played in the afternoon.
The Qantas Wallabies will play at AAMI Park in Melbourne against Fiji (3 pm, Saturday 10 June), followed by matches against Scotland at Allianz Stadium in Sydney (3 pm, Saturday 17 June) and Italy at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane (3 pm, Saturday 24 June).
Each of the three matches will pose unique challenges for the Qantas Wallabies. Fiji, whose first international Test match was played against Australia in 1952 in front of record crowds, loom as fierce competitors who will undoubtedly showcase a dazzling array of ball-running skills. One week later, the men in gold will take on Scotland in the 31st encounter between the two proud rugby nations. After their 2012 win on Australian soil, the Scots will be desperate to secure another rare win over the Wallabies, having lost the most recent two classes by just one point. The Arvo Test Rugby Series will conclude with a Suncorp thriller in Brisbane against Italy who is yet to topple the Wallabies after 16 encounters.
Victorian Minister for Tourism and Major Events John Eren said, “AAMI Park is perfect for the biggest and best Rugby blockbusters – as we proved last year when the Wallabies played England and we broke the stadium attendance record. This Test is another chance for to prove that nobody puts on a show quite like Victoria.”
NSW Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall said, “The Wallabies’ last Test match at Allianz Stadium generated an incredible atmosphere as a record 42,280 fans packed the stands to cheer on the men in gold. NSW is a proud rugby state and we look forward to cheering our national team home when they take on the renowned Scottish outfit, who will be looking for redemption after their two recent one-point defeats.”
The Qantas Wallabies Test match against Italy is proudly supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland’s its Life! in Queensland major events calendar.
