RFU Disciplinary: Francois Louw
An appeal against the sanction imposed on Francois Louw of Bath Rugby was heard by an RFU Disciplinary appeal panel yesterday evening.
After careful consideration, the appeal against the two-week ban imposed was dismissed. Louw will be free to play again on Tuesday 7 March.
Louw received the ban after dangerous tackling Charlie Mulchrone of Harlequins, contrary to law 10.4(e).
The incident occurred in the first half of the Aviva Premiership match between Bath and Harlequins on Saturday 18 February.
The RFU Disciplinary appeal panel said: “The appeal panel considered detailed submissions from Bath’s representative, however, were satisfied that the decision arrived at by the initial panel was a decision that a reasonable body could have come to.”
The panel comprised of Jeremy Summers (chairman), John Vale and Nick Dark.
