The charge against Aaron Morris of Harlequins RFC for tackling the jumper in the air, contrary to law 10.4(i), was heard in London this evening.

Morris pleaded not guilty however was given a three-week suspension. He is free to play again on Tuesday 21 March.

The full-back received a yellow card on the field following his tackle on Adam Thompstone of Leicester Tigers in the second half of the Aviva Premiership match last Friday. He was then subsequently cited post-match.

The RFU disciplinary panel concluded: “The panel found this was a reckless incident that warranted a red card. The Leicester Tigers player luckily sustained no serious injury and was able to play on. As such it was deemed a low-end offence.”

The RFU disciplinary panel comprised of Philip Evans QC (chairman), Michael Short and Aidan O’Brien.

Full judgement and footage of the incident will be available on this link in the next few days: http://www.englandrugby.com/governance/discipline/judgments-document-search/
