RUGBY FANS INVITED TO BE PART OF FORCE’S 10TH SEASON
The Western Force is inviting all rugby supporters to be a part of its milestone 10th season in the Asteron Life Super Rugby competition.
Tickets are now on sale for the Western Force’s eight blockbuster home matches with the fixtures to provide the platform for the club to celebrate its first decade in the tournament.
After away matches against the NSW Waratahs and Queensland Reds, the Force will kick off its home season against the Hurricanes (Wellington, New Zealand) at the ‘Force Field’ (nib Stadium) on Friday, 27 February.
The match will provide a fitting home launch to the club’s 10th season celebrations, with the Force recording its first win in Perth against the ‘Canes in 2007.
The Force will host a special 10th season anniversary match against the Cheetahs (Free State, South Africa) in Perth on Saturday, 11 April – with whom the Force joined the Asteron Life Super Rugby competition with in 2006 and against whom the Force recorded the club’s first win in the same year.
The match will provide an opportunity for the club to acknowledge those members that have supported the Western Force through its first 10 seasons.
Throughout the season, the Force will also host reigning champions, the NSW Waratahs; the ACT Brumbies, against whom the Force played its first Asteron Life Super Rugby match against in 2006; 2014 semi-finalists, the Highlanders (Otago, New Zealand); the Cape-Town based Stormers; and Australian derbies against rivals, the Melbourne Rebels and Queensland Reds.
The club will feature a number of themed matches through the year that will be announced during the season.
RugbyWA CEO, Mark Sinderberry, encouraged all Western Australian rugby supporters to be a part of the Force’s 10th season in Asteron Life Super Rugby.
“This is a special year to be involved with the club and I’d invite all rugby supporters to be a part of this celebration with us,” he said.
“This season is a fantastic opportunity for us to acknowledge those that have contributed to making the club what it is today, as well as providing a springboard from which to launch the club into its next 10 years.
“We love to see all of those who have supported us over the past nine years to be part of our 10th season, and be a part of the journey as the team works to back up the success of last season.”
