SA Rugby appoints Tsholo Kubheka as General Manager: Commercial
SA Rugby announced on Wednesday that Tsholo Kubheka, a former employee, has returned to the organisation as the new General Manager: Commercial.
Kubheka takes over the duties of Andy Marinos, who took up the role of CEO of SANZAAR earlier this year.
“Tsholo is no stranger to SA Rugby as he previously held the position of Rights Manager and it’s good to welcome him back,” said SA Rugby CEO Jurie Roux.
“He comes with vast experience in the commercial landscape and his standing in this field was clear when he was head-hunted in 2013 to return to a previous employer. Rugby has always had a special place in his heart and we’re glad to have him back.”
Kubheka, a provincial rugby player at U19 level, joins SA Rugby from Virgin Active SA, where he was most recently Sales Director for 126 health clubs across the country.
He has also spent time as Chief Marketing Officer for Virgin Active Red and Head of Sales for Virgin Active, amongst other roles, in more than 17 years with the health club group. His previous employment at SA Rugby was from January 2012 to March 2013.
