Toyota Free State Cheetahs prop Schalk van der Merwe will appear before a SARU judicial committee on Tuesday after receiving a red card for a dangerous tackle on Vodacom Blue Bulls fullback Jurgen Visser in the team’s Absa Currie Cup clash in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

The player received a red card in the 74^th minute for lifting Visser in a tackle and failing to bring him back to the ground safely, therefore breaching Law 10.4 (j).

The hearing will take place at 15h00 in Cape Town. Adv André Oosthuizen has been appointed the judicial officer.
