The South African record for Vodacom Super Rugby log points accumulated on tour stands at 16 and is held by the DHL Stormers, but The Sharks can equal this when they take on the Crusaders in a historic match at Twickenham in London on Sunday at 17h00.

The Sharks have accrued 11 log points in their fi rst three tour games this season, in Perth, Melbourne and Hamilton. This includes maximum points against the Western Force (39-12) and the Melbourne Rebels (34-32), as well as a bonus point in their 9-15 defeat to the Chiefs at the Waikato Stadium on Friday.

In 2008, the DHL Stormers set the South African record of 16 log points on their tour of Australasia. They scored bonus point victories over the Reds in Brisbane (34-16), the Chiefs in Hamilton (35-26) and the Western Force in Perth (32-16), but missed out on a “perfect tour” when the Blues edged them by 17-14 in Auckland.

On that tour, the DHL Stormers scored 13 tries, while conceding only seven. The Sharks are on nine tour tries after their first three games and have conceded only four – all of them against the Rebels in Melbourne.
