Springbok Experience gets TripAdvisor accolade
The world’s largest travel website, TripAdvisor, has awarded the Springbok Experience, SA Rugby’s world-class interactive museum in Cape Town, with a Certificate of Excellence for the fourth consecutive year.
This accolade is awarded to tourist attractions around the world based on consistently good reviews on TripAdvisor, which lists approximately 7.5 million attractions, accommodations and restaurants on its website, where more than 630 million reviews and opinions are published.
The Springbok Experience – which was shortlisted for the International Museum of the Year Award in the UK’s Museum + Heritage Awards in 2014 – has attracted close to 200,000 visitors to rave reviews since it opened its doors at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town in September 2013.
Earlier this year, the Springbok Experience also registered as a participating member of the Museum of the World programme.a
“We are very proud to be recognised by TripAdvisor and its users, and the reviews from visitors to the Springbok Experience shows that we’re doing something right,” said SA Rugby CEO Jurie Roux.
“This is also reward for all the hard work that went into the establishment of the Springbok Experience as well as for the on-going dedication of the staff.
“More than 90% of our reviews on TripAdvisor, have rated the Springbok Experience ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’, which is a feather in the cap of everyone involved. It underlines yet again that this museum is much more than just boots and blazers, it really is a truly South African rugby experience.”

During the June school holidays, the Springbok Experience will host a special programme, as well as the very popular Museum Night on 28 June, when visitors can access the museum after hours, from 17h00 until 22h00.
