  • Confirmed Bok media and training schedule for PE

The Springbok squad for the start of the 2017 Castle Lager Rugby Championship will be named on Saturday, 5 August 2017 after the Vodacom Super Rugby Final, which will be staged on the same day at Emirates Airlines Park in Johannesburg.

The 33-man Bok squad will be confirmed through a SA Rugby media release and on Supersport, at approximately 18h45 on Saturday evening.

The players will assemble on Tuesday, 8 August in Port Elizabeth to start with their preparations for the first Test against Argentina at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday, 19 August. Springbok coach Allister Coetzee and his management staff will arrive a day earlier already in the Friendly City.

There will be several opportunities for Port Elizabeth rugby supporters to engage with the Springboks in the two-week build-up to the Pumas Test, with full details to be confirmed in the next few days.

13h00-13h30: Media conference with Springbok coach Allister Coetzee at the Garden Court Kings Beach;

Tuesday, 8 August

12h00: Springbok squad assembly at the team hotel;

15h00-16h30: Field training session at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium (first 15 minutes open for media filming and photography);

Wednesday, 9 August

15h00-17h30: Springbok open training session – venue TBC;

Friday, 11 August

10h45 – 12h15: Field training session at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium (first 15 minutes open for media filming and photography);

13h00 – 13h30:  Media conference with an assistant coach and a selected player at the team hotel;

Saturday, 12 August

08h00-08h30: Media filming opportunity with the Springbok coach and selected players at the #2023 RWC bid flag hoisting event at the Donkin Reserve.
